Mongolian Banking Association, IFC, FMO, UNEP FI, Ministry of Environment, Green Development and Tourism, Bank of Mongolia, Mayor of Ulaanbaatar City and Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry together organized Mongolian Sustainable Financing Forum 2015 under the theme “Green Loan Fund-Leveraging Sustainable Growth” on November 27, 2015. During the forum, Golomt bank was named “Leading Bank in Sustainable Financing Policy.”

Golomt bank initiated “Green Loan” for the first time in Mongolia and within the framework of implementing Sustainable Financing Policy (SFP), Golomt bank has been leading the sector with its supporting of environmentally friendly businesses and its corporate social responsibility toward its clients and public.

In 2015, Golomt bank joined United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and initiated “Paperless Bank” campaign to promote preservation of environment and saving of clients’ time. Moreover, Golomt bank was named as the “Best Internet Bank of Mongolia 2015” by Global Finance journal for introducing new e-banking services and expanding scope of clients’ usage.

Golomt bank accomplished number of key projects including launching of edu.golomtbank.com, to promote financial education of our clients and public, and launching of sme.golomtbank.com, devoted to SME enterprises while initiating “Green Office” campaign bank wide, establishing “Eco Clubs” at secondary schools and organizing series of “Financial Education-Dream Enabler” training across the nation.

Moreover, Golomt bank is complying with Sustainable Financing Policy’s principles and requirements by evaluating risks of the projects in mining, energy, construction, forestry, agriculture, processing factory, chemical sectors and refusing to finance projects that are harmful to environment within the framework of Mongolia’s Sustainable Financing program.
